iPhone 18 Pro vs Pixel 11 Pro: $100 apart, 4x vs 5x zoom
The Pixel 11 Pro is lighter and has the longer zoom, and GSMArena's battery numbers put the iPhone only slightly ahead. I'd take the Pixel unless you live in iOS.

Amber marks my pick for that row.
At list, the $1,199 iPhone 18 Pro costs $100 more than the $1,099 Pixel 11 Pro (checked Nov 1, 2026). I wouldn't pay it unless iOS is already your life.
Measured numbers are GSMArena's battery scores and other outlets' reviews, named where I use them. The 7.9 and the pick are mine. I haven't used either phone.
Zoom
The iPhone has a 4 x telephoto. The Pixel has 5 x. Both are optical, so 1x of difference sounds small, and for portraits of friends across a table it is.
It matters at a stadium or a school play. The longer lens crops less. I'd still not buy a phone for 1x, and I'm saying so before you think of it that way.
Battery and charging
GSMArena's active-use score is 16 h 42 min (GSMArena active-use score) for the iPhone and 15 h 36 min for the Pixel. That's roughly an hour's difference. GSMArena's iPhone review says the Galaxy S26 and the Pixel 11 Pro both posted lower endurance scores than the iPhone.
The cells are 4,056 mAh in the unit GSMArena reviewed (a physical-SIM model; it says the eSIM-only version has 4,288 mAh) against 4,850 mAh. So the Pixel has the bigger cell and the iPhone still lasts longer in that test. On wired charging the iPhone is ahead: Apple's fast-charge claim, 50% in around 15 minutes, needs a 60W-capable adapter sold separately, and GSMArena found it blazing-fast next to the Pixel's 30 W. Top it up before bed either way, and you won't see the difference. If you top up at lunch, you will.
Weight and size
Both screens are 6.3 in. The iPhone weighs 211 g and the Pixel 204 g. GSMArena's own summary calls the iPhone somewhat heavy. A 7 g gap is nothing in the hand, though I notice any phone over 200 g in a jacket pocket.
Speed and heat
Chips: Apple A20 Pro against Google Tensor G6. I don't have a benchmark from one outlet that ran both, so I won't give a ratio. Notebookcheck calls the iPhone a compact powerhouse with an unresolved weakness and says the new cooling system is less efficient than last year's. That's a sustained-load complaint, not an everyday one.
Software support
The Pixel promises 7 years of updates. Apple publishes no number for the iPhone 18 Pro, so I can't put a figure on the gap. If you keep phones until the battery fades, a written promise is worth something.
What reviewers said
Smartprix scored the iPhone 8.8 out of 10 and put the price rise in its headline. Tom's Guide was blunter about the Pixel: the upgrades feel limited and last year's Pixel 10 Pro might be the better buy. Both are fair to me.
How I'd decide
- Pixel 11 Pro if you want the longest lens, a written seven-year update promise and $100 back.
- iPhone 18 Pro if your family shares iMessage, AirDrop and a Watch, because switching costs more than $100.
Full takes live in the iPhone 18 Pro review and Pixel 11 Pro review. If photos drive the decision, the best phones for photos page goes wider. Or filter all phones.
