When to buy electronics: Black Friday 2026 and the rest of the year

Adobe said Cyber Monday would be the best day for electronics and computers in 2025, and its results showed electronics discounts peaking at 31% that day. A Galaxy S26 deal in June still beat what Samsung shows now.

Black Friday 2026 is November 27, the day after Thanksgiving. Cyber Monday is November 30. That part is calendar. Everything after it is judgment, and I'll say which is which.

What Adobe's numbers say

Adobe Analytics forecast last year's discounts before the season. Digital Commerce 360 reported electronics at up to 28% off list, against 30.1% in 2024, and computers at 23%, against 22.8% (Oct 8, 2025). Adobe's line: "Cyber Monday will be the best day to shop for electronics, apparel and computers."

Results came in higher. Adobe's December 2025 release put electronics discounts on Cyber Monday at a peak of 31% off listed price, the highest of any category it listed. Cyber Monday was the biggest online day at $14.25 billion, ahead of Black Friday's $11.8 billion.

I haven't read an Adobe forecast for 2026, so those are last year's numbers. They suggest what's normal, nothing more. Notice what 31% is: a peak across a category, not the drop on the thing you want.

The sales that already happened

Amazon ran Prime Big Deal Days on October 6 and 7, 2026, for Prime members only, per Amazon's own page. It's over. If you missed it, you didn't miss a one-time chance.

Prime Day in June matters more. Android Authority reported the 256GB Galaxy S26 at $699.99 on June 23, 2026, down from a $899.99 RRP, with a previous low of $799.99. Samsung's own page showed the S26 at $849.99 on Nov 1, marked down from $999.99. If Black Friday only matches Samsung's current sale, June already beat it.

What Apple does

Apple's 2025 event wasn't about price cuts. It ran from Black Friday through December 1 and gave gift cards, per 9to5Mac. Up to $75 for iPhone 16 or 16e, $50 for Apple Watch Series 11 or SE 3, up to $250 on certain Macs. 9to5Mac's earlier report says the iPhone 17 line and the just-launched M5 MacBook Pro got no gift card.

I couldn't find an Apple announcement for 2026. If it repeats, expect gift cards again, not a cut on the $929 iPhone 17 or the $399 Apple Watch Series 12 (prices checked November 1, 2026). A gift card is also a fixed spend at Apple, which I'd count as worth less than the same amount off.

How I'd shop

  • Know your number first. Write down the lowest price you've seen. Retailers advertise percent off a list price few people paid.
  • Consider last year's model. It's my habit, and Apple's gift cards last year skipped the newest iPhone and MacBook Pro.
  • Phones and watches: look at June and early November, and not only the holiday weekend.
  • Laptops and TVs: by Adobe's forecast, Cyber Monday leans better. Check the same model number at three stores, because a different SKU can look like a deal.
  • Skip anything you're unsure fits. Specs like storage and screen quality matter more than 10% off. My explainers on how much storage you need, what refresh rate means and OLED or LCD for your eyes are for that.

Compare current prices in the phone catalog or the phone finder before the weekend, so you recognize a real deal when it appears.
